  1. PROFESSOR - REFORESTATION COURSE, INSTITUTO NACIONAL DE APRENDIZAJE (INA), 1988-1989
    Provided training throughout the country, for Costa Rican growers and producers in relation to the establishment and maintenance of nurseries and forest plantations, as well as in diverse aspects related to forest management.
  2. REFORESTATION SALES CONSULTANT, REFORESTACIONES META, 1989-1990
    Consultant for company owners, CEOs and CFOs in regards to the income tax deduction system based on reforestation or the purchase of already-established forest plantations. Also received training in sales during this period.
  3. FOREST ENGINEER, REFORESTATION DEPARTMENT, ASOCIACION DE PEQUEÑOS PRODUCTORES DE TALAMANCA (APTA), 1991
    Through an agreement with the INA, worked as a Forest Engineer in outreach projects, training APTA (Asociación de Pequeños Productores de Talamanca) members and in forest plantation management.

    Worked in sale and maintenance of trees to be planted in public areas and as a memorial for deceased people.

    Forest Engineer in charge of directing the Centro Agricola's Reforestation Project and coordinating its development between the reforesting party, the Centro Agrícola and government organizations.     General Manager for the Centro Agricola, also in charge of directing and supervising its work with small and medium-scale producers, government organizations (e.g. MINAE) and other collaborating organizations.
  7. CREATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLANS FOR SETENA, 2002-2003
    Creation and development of environmental management plans to be presented to SETENA, in addition to carrying out all necessary proceedings and paperwork related to various sustainable forest exploitation and mine recovery projects at SETENA for the FEAP.
  8. INDEPENDENT FOREST CONSULTANT, 1994-2006
    Conducted various studies for the establishment of reforestation projects and tree nurseries. Developed forest management plans and incentives for this purpose. Produced approximately 100 forest management plans, in addition to recording 250 forest inventories for pasture use purposes during this time period. Also participated in 25 reforestation projects and in 10 second phase reforestation management plans.
  9. ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES EVALUATION FROM 1995 TO 1997, FONAFIFO, CONSULTANT FOR CECADE, 1999
    The hiring of FONAFIFO, in a public tendering process through CECADE, resulted in a participation in the assessment of the Environmental Services Payment Program in 1995, 1996 and 1997. Conducted assessments on various payment systems throughout the country (Costa Rica), both for organizations as well as for individual growers and producers.
  10. DEVELOPMENT OF FOREST PROJECT ESTIMATES AND PROPOSALS
    Participated in tendering processes for public sector environmental-related contracts. Also participated in the development of estimates for various timber-related projects and in the presentation of various projects within the forestry business.
  11. SALES, LOGS AND SAWN TIMBER, 2000 – 2003
    Worked in wood extraction, processing and sales, especially during the last two years, of both logs and sawn timber.
  12. MANAGER, FOREST EXPLOITATION, 2003-2004
    Surveillance over sustainable forest exploitation activities at Finca Las Huacas S.A., including complete command over the land to be exploited. Directed each of the activities, timber measurement and preparation of exploitation reports. The 15 to 18-year old forest plantation includes eucalyptus, laurel and melina trees.
  13. MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT, TARIMAS PROFORCA, 2006-2008
    Assistant manager at Tarimas PROFORCA, from August, 2005 to February, 2008. Was in charge of the purchase and sales of melina wood, used especially in platform construction. In charge of accounts payable, platform exports, staff management duties, billing, providing estimates, supervising forest exploitations and maintaining a direct link with company suppliers, among other tasks.
  14. Experience in saw mill projects, both with a chain saw mill or with a portable chainsaw saw mill, as well as in the purchase and sales of logs and sawn timber.
  15. Experience in platform industrialization processes.
